Listen and evaluate first tech briefing<\/strong>:\u00a0<span class=\"s1\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><em>Simple web design<\/em> (<\/span>Lincoln &amp; Mark). We&#8217;ll spend 10-15 minutes hearing from Lincoln and Mark and another 5-10 completing their <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1atW_cKFpYVXN9qqCoDKpHReCCs4Yw5EtVqPHYV_5890\/viewform?usp=send_form\" target=\"_blank\">evaluation form<\/a>. Again, not only do these forms count toward your participation grade, they\u00a0count toward the presenter&#8217;s TB grade. I&#8217;ll walk you through the form one more time before Lincoln and Mark begin.<\/p>\n<p>Here is their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Simple-Web-Design-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">deliverable<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Listen to usability lecture<\/strong>. Slides are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Usability-Testing-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. I&#8217;ll share definitions, examples, technologies, and methods for usability or user-experience (UX) testing.<\/p>\n<p><del><strong>3. Review guidelines for making your own test.<\/strong> We&#8217;ll take a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Use-guide-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this handout<\/a>, which is designed to help you think through the steps required for test design.<\/del><\/p>\n<p><del><strong>4. Analyze a usability report\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Sample-usability-report-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">example<\/a><\/strong>. This is a very strong example of a usability\u00a0report from \u00a0my Fall 2011 class and should give you an idea of what I&#8217;m looking for. We&#8217;ll take a look at some of its strengths and raise questions moving forward.<\/del><\/p>\n<p>For Thursday, read about usability testing in Anderson and take a look at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/media.nngroup.com\/media\/reports\/free\/iPad_App_and_Website_Usability_2nd_Edition.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this usability study about the iPad<\/a>.
