Complete mid-semester evaluations.<\/strong> \u00a0I&#8217;ve done this with\u00a0previous courses and found it be an effective way for all involved\u00a0to reflect on our progress and make adjustments that we can all agree to.\u00a0I will read all of your responses carefully, identify trends or patterns, and write a committal letter detailing changes we\u2019ll make (which will need to be approved by you). (Or, if you find the co-writing process chaotic in Google Docs, you may answer the questions in a word processing program first and cut and paste them here.) You may also \u201clike\u201d your classmates\u2019 responses by tallying this next to their answers or writing additional comments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Review guidelines for making your own test.<\/strong> We&#8217;ll take a look at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Use-guide-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">this handout<\/a>, which is meant\u00a0to help you think through the steps required for test design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Analyze a usability report\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.courses.jasonluther.net\/professional\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Sample-usability-report-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">example<\/a>\u00a0and plan your tests<\/strong>. This is a very strong example of a usability\u00a0report from \u00a0my Fall 2011 class and should give you an idea of what I&#8217;m looking for. Take a look at this, the handout above, and make a plan for the lab on Tuesday. As you do, consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your <strong>objectives<\/strong>: What do you want to measure?<\/li>\n<li>Your <strong>testers<\/strong>: Who are they? Who do they represent?<\/li>\n<li>Your <strong>method<\/strong>: What kinds of tests do you want to run? How will they help measure your objectives?
